Hello and welcome back,
In today’s post I am featuring a card that I created few days ago for our family members who have recently purchased their first home.
It is such an exciting time in their lives and I wanted to create a celebration card that will be included with their housewarming gift.
I choose a stamp set Froggy Friends from Sunny Studio Stamps that includes the cutest froggy images and has a variety of different celebration themed sentiments.
I decided to create a layered look on this card without adding a lot of bulk so I stamped the images on masking paper and fussy cut them out.
To create my scene I stamped the images on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock as I decided to color my images with alcohol markers. Next I started adding two shades of blue ink (Distress Oxide – Broken China and Salty Ocean) on the bottom part of my cardstock to create water and ripples and colored all stamped images with markers. I created the sky using the same colors of Distress Oxide inks and a Mini Clouds stencil by My Favorite Things.
I wanted a separation between the water and the plants so I freehanded the grass and pebbles to create a shoreline. Then I cut my panel to a standard A2 size card size using a stitched rectangle die by Lawn Fawn.
As my card was coming together I decided to add a little bit of dimension so I stamped, colored and fussy cut the frogs and 1 lily pad and attached them to the card with foam tape. Next I added a sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
To finish off the card I stamped a few tiny bugs buzzing around and added some Wink of Stella to my lilies for some shine.
I hope you liked this Froggy card and got inspired.
