Hello and happy July 1st!
I am sharing a card I made for the last day of TheDailymarker30day coloring challenge hosted by Kathy Racoosin.
This was my first time participating and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to stick to it for the entire 30 days but I got so hooked on a happy feeling daily coloring was giving me that I really didn’t want it to end. It has become my daily “me” time.
Yesterday I decided to make something special and decided on a Thank you card. What better way to celebrate last 30 days of this amazing coloring journey!
I love flowers and floral stamps are my weakness – I LOVE them and want them all!!!
I decided to create a floral water colored background with a thank you die cut sentiment.
I chose one of my favorite floral background stamps – Center Cut Flowers by Simon Says Stamp and Big Thanks wafer die for the sentiment also by Simon.
I started with a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper that I prepped it with embossing powder and stamped the floral image with VersaMark ink, then sprinkled white embossing powder by Hero Arts, melted it with my heat tool and began water coloring.
I choose purple and green for my flowers and leaves (I had to make few of my own shades of each color by mixing the colors). Water colors I used are from Michaels Artist Loft brand.
Once the background was finished I set it aside to dry and started on die cutting my sentiment. Big Thanks wafer die set comes with a sentiment die and a shadow die which creates a beautiful word image that really stands out. I adhered the two die cuts, added Wink of Stella for some shimmer and attached two layers of foam tape for some extra dimension.
By now my background was dry so I die cut it with stitched rectangle die and attached my sentiment.
Next I cut a piece of vellum to 4 x 5 1/4 and attached it to the top folding A2 sized card base (Michael’s Recollections 110lb).
I added foam tape to my floral background and used liquid glue to adhere it to the vellum/card base.
To finish the card I added Moonshine sequins by Simon Says Stamp.
Thank you for stopping by 🙂
