Hi there,
I seems that the summer has finally arrived to PWN π It has been pretty gloomy and on a cool side for a while but last few days it finally warmed up. I was inspired to create a summer scene to match the beautiful weather we’re having today.
To start I stamped these adorable images from Sunny Studio Stamps – Beach Babies stamp set – with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored them with alcohol markers.
Once the images were completed I tried to arrange them all on a card – I REALLY wanted to fit them ALL. I couldn’t’ choose just a few, all images in this set are so adorable.
Not to overcrowd my design I decided on making two cards, both beach themed.
I started with blending Distress Inks (Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Broken China) over Ripples stencil (Kaisercraft) then added a few waves with the stencil I made from a piece of acetate.
Once I finished the water I started working on creating my beach. I used the same homemade waves stencil to create sandy dunes using Distress Inks in Tea Dye and Rusty Hinge.
I created the second background the same way except I flipped my design upside down.
I cut both backgrounds with the largest Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle nested frames die then cut stitched small window trio with Sunny Studio Stamps – Window Trio Square Dies.
I backed both backgrounds with foam tape and attached them to the card bases (Michael’s Recollection’s 110lb).
Next I started to arrange my images on each background. One they were glued in place I stamped sentiments from the set on the bottom of each card using VersaFine Onyx Black.
Below are the photos of both cards π
My Love For Paper
These cards are adorable. I live in the PNW too! A big plus for me is quick deliveries of Sunny Studio Stamps orders since sheβs the next county over from me. π
