Craftin Desert Divas – August 2018 Release Blog Hop – Day One

CDD August 2018 Release

Hello and Happy Friday!

I am so very excited to participate in Day One of TWO days of blog hops for Craftin Desert DivasΒ  August 2018 Release.

There is A LOT of amazing new products in this release and a lot of wonderful inspiration from everyone participating so make sure you hop along today and tomorrow!

I made several projects for this release and had so much fun creating them πŸ™‚

I used Favorite Nut and Fall Fairies Stamp sets as well as some beautiful sequins in all my projects.

For my first project I used Favorite Nut and Fall Fairies stamp set and created this one layer card using an image of a basket of acorns from the set.

I created my own background by stamping the image (Favorite Nut) repeatedly on my card panel then coloring them with alcohol markers.

Once I was done with coloring I cut my panel slightly smaller than A2 size.

I white heat embossed the sentiment (Fall Fairies) on a strip of vellum and adhered it in the middle of my panel.

I backed the panel with craft foam and added it to my card base and was very pleased with how it turned out πŸ™‚

My second card was very easy and simple to create πŸ™‚ Image is from the Favorite Nut set.

I white heat embossed the sentiment directly to the bottom right corner of my card base.

I die cut the smallest of Inside Scalloped Octagon dies 3 times, stacked it and adhered it to the card base. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the adorable squirrel image, added foam tape to the back and adhered it in the middle of my octagon frame.

To give this simple design little bit more interest I added Nuvo Drops in gloss white.

For my third and fourth card I used Fall Fairies Stamp set πŸ™‚ I am absolutely in love with these beautiful fairy images!

I started by coloring the fairy and her adorable friends in fall colors. The background was created with distress inks. Once the ink was dry I added some splatter (leftover ink and water) then stamped the – give thanks – sentiment (from the stamp set) in the top left corner of my card panel.

With black liner pen I added faux stitching to my panel then freehanded grassy area in the bottom right corner with alcohol markers. I backed the panel with foam tape then adhered in to my A2 size card base.

Finally I adhered the images and added some highlights with white gel pen.

My fourth and final card I all about purple πŸ™‚

As I was coloring this image I decided to give this adorable fairy purple hair and stockings and absolutely loved the look so continued with the purple theme throughout the rest of the card.

For the background I used a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock and created the swirl/fan pattern using a home made stencil and distress ink.

I die cut the background with the largest Inside Scalloped Octagon die and kept the center piece. I added foam tape to the frame part and adhered both center die cut and the frame directly to my card base. Next I adhered my purple haired fairy in the middle of the swirly background and stamped the sentiment.

For some interest I added Nuvo Jewel Drops to the inside of the frame and on each side of the sentiment.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and make sure you hop along with the rest of the participants for some amazing inspiration and come back tomorrow to Craftin Desert Divas BlogΒ  for Day Two of the hop!
