Hello and welcome back!
My last mermaid card (at least for a while – I’m sure I’ll be back creating more cards with these beauties) features a rainbow hair mermaid!
For this card I decided to create a monochromatic background and have the mermaid’s hair take the center stage!
To create the background I started with a panel of gray cardstock that I die cut with stitched rectangle die. I choose 3 colors of distress ink for the blending. The bottom part (rocks) was created using a stencil that was made with a die from Simon Says Stamp. I cut the piece of acetate with the pebbles die and used a negative as a stencil to create the rocks.
The waves and the light beams were created with stencils as well – Simon’s Waves and Honey Bee Ocean scene builder.
For the bottom portion of the panel I used Black Soot, Hickory Smoke distress inks and White pigment ink.
For the waves/light beams I used only white pigment ink and added splatter with leftover ink.
Once the background was dry I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder that I mixed with glitter. Glitter might have been little bit too chunky as I couldn’t achieve completely smooth look but the shine on this sentiment is really worth it! π
I stamped, colored and fussy cut the mermaid and added white embossing glitter mixture to the star fish and her scales for some added shine and sparkle.
I adhered the background panel to the card base then added the mermaid with foam tape.
Hope you have enjoyed my mini mermaid series using Simon Says Stamp card kit π
Thank you so much for visiting and hope you have a wonderful day!
