Sorry I’ve been a little prickly

Hello crafty friends!

It’s been a few weeks since my last post, and today I am have one of the cards I’ve created in the last few weeks.

This “prickly” card was created for The Male Room Challenge #96 My Bad/Sorry.

I was in the mood to create a simple card and choose the mini cacti stamp set that was My Favorite Things September freebie.

All the images in the set are solid and this made it really easy to create a quick card.

I choose earthy colors for this project, inspired both by the desert where cacti live and our current season 🙂

I started with die cutting the background panel. I drew the faint pencil line to make sure the stamped images are straight then used the stamp positioner to stamp the clay pots in 3 different colors.

Next I stamped the cacti trying my best to align them by the pots however I still did not stamp them prefect and had to add some “shading” with alcohol markers to fill in the spaces I missed! Ha! It happens – I try never to give up on a project and I will do just about anything I can to fix/save it.

Once the images were stamped I die cut a piece of kraft cardstock for the shelf and adhered it below the clay pots.

I white heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock and added it below the shelf with a piece of foam tape. I framed the background with black cardstock to give it framed look.

To the background I added black Nuvo Drops and some splatter for a little bit more texture and interest and adhered the finished piece to the card base.
