Miss You – AECP – All About Layering 2

Hello crafty friends!

I am back today after finishing All Abut Layering 2 class at Altenew Academy and am sharing a card created for the completion of this class 🙂

I have been using layering stamps for a while and thought I really had a hang of it but after taking these two classes and looking back at my work from a year ago or even 6 months ago I can see so much improvement in my layering skills!

Lets get to the card I have created for today’s post.

Color inspiration came from a photo I recently saw on the internet (below). This color combo (purple, teal and gold) is one I would have most likely not tried myself but I loved the colors so much that I decided to use it for this project!

I choose my ink colors first and decided on Shades Of Purple and Sea Shore mini ink sets, and gorgeous Peony Bouquet stamp/die set from Altenew!

I started with stamping my floral images with Shades of Purple using Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris and for the leaves Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake and Lagoon ink colors.

I opted not to use the darkest color of each cube set for this project as I wanted my flowers and leaves to stay pretty soft/light in color. Once my stamping was complete I die cut the images using coordinating dies.

To create the background I used Altenew  Watercolor Stripes stencil and Antique Gold Crisp embossing powder – sentiment is from Dearest Friend stamp set.

Once my background was complete I adhered my images adding two gold glitter paper stripes to the left. I added a few highlights to my images with gold gel pen for some interest and shine. I thought the gold glitter stripes and gel pen accents looked really good with gold embossing.

For my card base I used teal colored cardstock matching the colors of the foliage.

I really hope you like today’s card and got inspired to create a project using your layering stamps 🙂
