Today I am sharing a card for my class Clean & Simple Boutique Cards at Altenew Academy. What a fun class this was! I will definitely be referring to this class for future card ideas 🙂
After my first two very colorful cards, I decided to keep this one monochromatic and as clean and simple as I could.
Inspired by gorgeous Altenew florals I have been playing with, I choose florals again for today’s project – Beautiful Day stamp set. Beautiful Day is one of the most popular floral sets from Altenew and it’s such a joy to create with!
For my background I used Altenew Watercolor Stripes Stencil and Silver Stone and Industrial Diamond ink colors. I inked Silver Stone over the stencil creating a gradient look, wanting the color most vivid on the right bottom corner of my background. I mixed leftover ink on my craft mat with a little bit of water and added some splatter then set the background to dry.
Once my background was completely dry I stamped the sentiment (from Lace Up stamp set) and a small floral cluster image (pictured above in the stamp set).
For the main flower I used only 2 layering stamps – layers 3 and 4 (I skipped the full and outline image in this project). Once stamped I fussy cut the image and backed it with foam tape.
To make it more interesting and different I decided to adhered the background to the right bottom corner of my card base. I adhered the flower next and added silver liquid drops to the stamen and the background.
In this class I learned that a really beautiful, elegant card doesn’t need to be complicated or take hours to make. This card was really fun and pretty quick to create – I think it took me about 45 minutes from start to finish!
Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day 🙂
