Hello and welcome back!
I have just finished my fourth class at Altenew Academy – For The Guys! Creating cards for men in our lives is always pretty challenging for most of us and this class really helps with boosting your creativity and giving you some awesome ideas on how to create masculine cards!
For my project I used something different than the commonly used stamps for masculine cards and try to create a card using a floral set. I used Golden Garden stamp set as it is very artsy and the look of the images can easily be converted in many ways (check out these awesome images on the photo below).
I choose brown, gold and white for my color combination today and also decided to incorporate some texture using craft cork material which gives this project lots of dimension and more masculine look.
You can see the dimension really well on the photo below.
I embossed the image on a piece of cork material first – I had to do this several as the material is porous and was soaking up the ink but it did work and I was happy with the result.
Next I embossed the same image on a piece of dark brown shimmer paper – this stamp image has two layers and I embossed the bottom layer of the image in white and the petals in Antique Gold Crisp.
Next I cut the strips of the cork material and aligned 3 of the strips to the image of my embossed shimmer paper.
To add this card more interest I cut thin strips of the leftover shimmer paper and adhered them to the right of the image and under the sentiment.
Both For The Guys and Clean and Simple Boutique cards classes inspired this card. I was hoping to achieve the look of an elegant masculine card with this project.
I hope you got inspired to try some of the unconventional stamps to create masculine cards. Adding layers, textured and masculine colors really helps in achieving the look.
Thank you so very much for stopping by today and I wish you happy crafting!
