Hello crafty friends!
Today’s card is a submission for my eight completed class at Altenew Academy – Easy Die Cutting Techniques! Oh my goodness I cannot believe I am two classes away from finishing Level 1 of Altenew Educator Program π
I actually created this card for our 12 yr old niece who has been competing in gymnastics since she was 5. She won a second place last weekend I though gifting her Congratulations card in her favorite colors would be an awesome addition to the little gift we bought for her!
She also loves flowers and that inspired the stamp set I choose for today’s card (Lacy Scrolls from Altenew).
I stamped the images in lightest pink, blue and yellow shades of ink I have – Blush, Mountain Mist and Citrus Burst all from Altenew, creating sort of a patterned paper design.
Next I aligned polka dot vellum on top of my design and die cut only a few outlines of my stamped images. I die cut all yellow image outlines as I wanted a bright pop of color to contrast the rest of the pastel background.
You can see the difference in brightness of the colors of the two center flowers, yellow swirls and one blue swirl compared to the rest of the more muted background covered by vellum. I really love this look!
For the sentiment I choose Congrats – of course – and covered it with silver shimmer pen then added few eggshell pearls to keep the soft look of this card design.
This class was AMAZING – taking die cutting to a whole another level for me π I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who owns a die cutting machine!
Thank you for visiting my blog today and I wish you happy crafting! π
