Hello crafty friends!
We are starting a new challenge at The Male Room Challenge #105 Anything Goes, Optional Twist – No Designer Papers!
It’s been a long minute since my last blog – we have been having internet issues for few weeks and writing a blog has been a real challenge when you’re constantly getting kicked off the internet.
I found a WiFi spot somewhat near my home to be bale to write this blog but I will keep it fairly short and simple today!
I was so excited about Anything Goes challenge as it always gives me the freedom to create anything I want.
One of our nephews birthdays is coming up and I really needed a birthday card for him – he’ll be turning 16 this year so I tried to keep this card as “cool” as possible for a teenage boy.
I created the background by heat embossing splatters with 3 different embossing powders – blue, silver and black. I rarely use black embossing powder and this background design was pretty forgiving so I gave it shot and really liked the outcome.
The paper I used for the background is 110lb heavyweight cardstock to minimize the warping – it really did make a difference 🙂 The panel was cut with stitched rectangle die before I started heat embossing.
For the sentiment I used the negative piece of a die cut (happy birthday die is from MFT) that I popped up using foam tape – I saved the letters for another project, which I am sure will come in handy in the near future 🙂
I adhered the finished panel directly on dark gray card base and my card was done!
I really hope you like this card and got inspired to break out all different embossing powders and create your own custom background!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I wish you Happy Crafting!
