Hello friends and welcome back!
Brand new challenge #109 is starting today at The Male Room Challenge blog with a theme Anything Goes – Optional Twist One Layer!
I must admit that Anything Goes challenges are my absolute favorite as I get to create whatever I want π or need!
I felt like playing with some ink techniques today so for the background I inked up acrylic block with three shades of blue ink, sprayed it with water and stamped on a piece of white Classic Crest cardstock.
Using leftover ink I added some splatters then die cut the panel once it was dry.
It’s been a while since I played with my older stamp sets, so I went through sets I bought several years ago, and decided to use the feathers from Recollection’s stamp set (Michael’s).
I used the same three blue ink colors to stamp the feathers (one in each shade, dark to light) then stamped the sentiment from Technique Tuesday ~Lots Of Sentiments~ stamp set.
I created ombre look on the sentiment using the same three shades of blue.
I added thin strips of blue cardstock on each side of the panel as I wanted the panel to stand out from the white background (this step probably threw this design out of – Optional One Layer – part of the challenge but I liked the look so much I decided to keep the blue strips).
Once my panel was complete I adhered it to the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 white card base then added few light blue Nuvo drops and a tri-color bow for some interest.
I really love the way this card turned out! It is definitely suitable for a male but also for a female friend who loves color blue!
I really appreciate you stopping by today and I hope to see you next time!
Happy Crafting!
