Hello crafty friends and welcome to Technique Tuesday June 2019 release and blog hop!
If you’re hoping along you should have arrived from Amy Kolling’s blog
If this is your first stop WELCOME! You will find complete blog hop line up at the end of this post 🙂
My friends – Technique Tuesday has done it again, adding gorgeous Blooming Branches stamps and crafting dies to their Greenhouse Society Collection and to their Animal House Collection, adorable Helen and Harry the Hippos stamps and coordinating crafting dies.
I am so excited to share two cards with you today, created with these new products!
For my first card I have used Blooming Branches stamps and coordinating dies 🙂
To start, I stamped and colored the image on alcohol marker friendly paper. Once the image was colored I used coordinating crafting dies to cut it out. I die cut the Hello sentiment (included with coordinating dies) three times out of black cardstock, then stacked them for dimension.
For the background, I choose a shade of pink, similar to the florals, to ink blend half of the panel. Taking my time with blending I achieved a very soft transition from pink to white.
For some interest and texture I added some pink and white splatter to coordinate with the rest of the background.
Once the background was dry, I adhered the Blooming Branches image with foam tape, added the sentiment and backed the panel with a piece of black layering cardstock.
The finished panel was adhered to A2 sized white card base. To embellish the card I added black liquid drops.
My second card is fun and happy birthday card, featuring Helen and Harry the Hippos stamp set!
I really wanted a scene with a bunch of these adorable hippos wishing the recipient a happy birthday. To achieve this I created several masks for the hippo image and stamped the hippo image in two rows. As I was stamping I masked each image so they wouldn’t overlap.
Once the images were stamped, I colored them with three different color combinations – cool grays, warm grays and browns, then fussy cut the entire large image.
For the background I blended dark green and light blue inks creating grass and sky. I adhered the fussy cut hippo image directly to the inked panel then stamped two sentiments from the set.
To make this design more festive, I added a birthday hat on one of the hippos! Next, I colored the birdies (from the stamp set) in yellow, red and blue, die cut them with coordinating dies them added them around the hippos to help celebrate! Completed panel was adhered to A2 sized white card base and my card was finished 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a beautiful day and as always I wish you Happy Crafting 🙂
