Hello friends!
It’s been almost a week since my last post – we’ve had a family reunion, few birthdays and much needed mini getaway. As much as I needed this little break I really missed crafting and blogging and I am so happy to be back with a new post.
Today I am sharing two cards made with the newest Technique Tuesday Animal House Society Collection – Tommy and Polly the Tropical Birds, and I must say I LOVE them!
This set has a beautiful parrot and toucan as well as some leaves and flowers to add to the scene, and many awesome sentiments!
On my first card I am featuring the parrot and the leaves from the set.
I created the background by stamping the leaves and coloring them with alcohol markers. I had some tropical print patterned paper in my stash and created the round frame and the sentiment strip.
I stamped and colored the parrot, cut it with coordinating die and added it inside of the frame. Finally, I white heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of patterned paper and adhered it below the round frame.
For my second card I used bright green cardstock that I ran through the Sizzix Tropical Leaves Textured Impressions embossing folder. I think the bright green background really made the birds stand out.
I stamped and colored both parrot and toucan, as well as the leaves and the flowers from the stamp set, colored them with alcohol markers then cut them with coordinating dies.
I adhered them to the background with foam tape, then stamped the sentiment and added it to the bottom of the design.
I used leaves and flowers to decorate the scene.
Don’t you just love these birds? They’re so beautifully illustrated and so fun to color!
I really hope you like the cards I have shared today π
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day !!
