Hello friends and welcome back!
It’s been a while since my last post – I took a week off for a family vacation, then came back with a bug. It has taken me quite a few days to get back to normal schedule and crafting.
Today I have a masculine card I’ve created for the newest challenge at The Male Room.
Theme for challenge #120 is Use Embellishments and it took me a bit to decide what type of a card to make. I finally settled on Grateful for you card as Thanksgiving is coming up and I will be able to give it to a family member.
This was a pretty quick and easy card to make and it turned out so beautiful thanks to the metallic paper and embossing folder that created the background pattern.
I have used gorgeous brown gold paper – Stardream Metallic Venus from CutCardStock. This beauty changes the color as you tilt it to the light and it’s shimmer is simply beautiful. I thought it was perfect for a classy masculine card.
Embossing folder I used is Moroccan Circles from Sunny Studio Stamps, as well the sentiment (Elegant Leaves from Sunny Studio).
I decided to white heat emboss the sentiment on a strip of vellum. My vellum did warp quite a bit (I think it was a 20lb – pretty thin vellum) so I had to use more than usual amount of liquid glue to adhere it and keep it straight (you can see few areas where the glue shows, but I think recipient will not be bothered too much by this 😉
I embellished the sentiment strip with white pearls.
Finally I popped the finished panel on a piece of thin craft foam and adhered to the card base.
Awesome Tenia Nelson is joining us as a Guest Designer for this challenge – you can take a look at her fabulous card and post HERE.
