AAA Birthday – Game #9 – A Shaker Card

AAA 109

Hello crafties and Happy New Year!

Today I am sharing my first card of 2020 made for AAA Birthday – Game#9 – A Shaker Card!

I love, love making shaker cards – to me they are super special and I have never seen a recipient have a bigger smile than when receiving a shaker card, no matter what the age!

We have a fabulous guest designer Vita Thai joining us for this months game – you can check out her awesome card on her Instagram page HERE.

For today’s card I have used a bunch of products from my stash 🙂 I find people forget all the amazing stamps, dies, stencils, etc… they already have in their stash as they’re usually using their newest bought products. I have dug up some of my first purchases from My Favorite Things and started playing!

I have created a background with My Favorite Things Balloon stencil and pink and yellow inks. I used Classic Crest cardstock from CutCardstock for both my card base and ink blended panels – this amazing heavy weight cardstock is fantastic for ink blending, die cutting and card bases.

With leftover inks on my craft mat, I did some ink smooshing and created the front panel out of which I die cut the candles from.

I used patterned paper for the shaker background and the frame. Both candles die set and patterned papers are from My Favorite Things as well, both older sets.

For my shaker pieces I mixed several (5) different sequin mixes from my stash – pretty much the colors that matched the background 🙂

Finally I die cut a Happy Birthday sentiment (from Simon Says Stamp) and adhered it to the front panel.

I really hope you like today’s project and will join us for this challenge! We always need birthday cards on hand and it’s never too early to start working on your stash 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Until next time I wish you all Happy Crafting!!
