An Ocean Full Of Thanks – Stay Crafty With Hero #4

HA - SCWH #4

Hi friends and welcome back!

Today I am sharing a card made for Hero Arts – Stay Crafty with Hero challenge #4 – Self Care. This challenge is all about making a project just for yourself, something that’s special and relaxing to you.

What I would normally do for myself as a part of self care is go to the ocean. I love anything and everything water related – water calms me down and I feel like it cleanses me.

With all the beaches closed and restricted travel I thought, since I cannot go to the ocean, I can bring ocean to my craft desk 🙂

I have recently posted two cards with this gorgeous mermaid and I have decided to make a third one for this challenge. I used my favorite inks, stencils and stamps to make this card.

HA - SCWH #4b

I used Crafters Workshop Organic Matter stencil, Distress Oxide inks in Squeezed lemonade, Peacock feathers, Worn lipstick, Salty ocean, Wilted violet and Chipped sapphire for the background.

I stamped jellyfish, manta ray and the turtle (from March 2019 MMH kit) with Wilted violet ink.

I added the rock and ocean foliage with Honey Bee ocean scene builder stencil.

On a piece of vellum, I white heat embossed the sentiment (from Mermaid Kisses stamp set) using HA white embossing powder, then adhered the vellum to the inked background.

Finally I added my mermaid, which I colored with alcohol makers in pastel colors to match the background.

I added iridescent bubbles around the image to embellish and my card was finished!

I really hope you like today’s card and got inspired to create something just for yourself.

Thank you so much for stopping by, until next time, stay safe, stay healthy and stay crafty!

XO
